Hamburg, Germany, June 28, 2011 – Stollmann and ARS Software to Develop Bluetooth and NFC Reference Solution
The use of near field communication (NFC) greatly simplifies the Bluetooth pairing process.
Stollmann, a leading provider of NFC protocol software, and ARS Software, a supplier and integrator of iAnywhere Bluetooth protocol software, are collaborating on secure simple pairing of Bluetooth and NFC. ARS Software has developed an NFC secure simple pairing out-of-band (OOB) application for the iAnywhere stack using Stollmann NFC software.
June 2, 2011 – As of May 23, 2011, TTA (Telecommunications Technology Association) became an NFC Forum Authorized Test Laboratory capable of offering NFC Forum testing services. Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short range wireless connectivity technology operating at 13.56 MHz and transferring date up to 424 kb/s. The NFC Forum, a non-profit industry association that advances the use of NFC technology, launched its Certification Program in December 2010. The first step in the certification process is to submit NFC-equipped devices to an NFC Forum Authorized Test Laboratory for conformance testing, and Forum members who are device manufacturers can subsequently submit the test results to the NFC Forum Certification Administrator to demonstrate their products’ compliance with NFC Forum technical specifications.
Pioneering service removes the barriers to NFC uptake by automating the recognition and launch of apps that interpret NFC Tags and Smart Posters
In the next years, millions of NFC tags and Smart Posters will be spread over the world and thousands of mobile applications will be made available to interpret them. Many of these tags will have customized data requiring the end user to have in his/her smartphone a specific mobile application to be able to interact with them. With NFC Launcher, the process of identification and launch of the mobile application that interprets each tag is automated, removing important barriers to the uptake of NFC.

Leuven (Belgium), 8 March 2010 – IBBT, a research institute of the Flemish government, has completed a study on the possibilities of replacing paper vouchers such as meal vouchers, discount coupons and gift vouchers by an electronic alternative based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
