BKM has joined the NFC Forum in December 2011. Dedicated to forming a balanced ecosystem in Turkey, BKM has been investing actively in building NFC payment systems and a competency center since 2008. Acting as a trusted service manager and as a facilitator, BKM has enabled use of credit cards on handset based NFC secure elements with issuing members Halkbank, Isbank, Vakifbank and Ziraat Bank. BKM is currently developing SIM based solutions with Turkey’s leading Mobile Network Operators. Going forward BKM will support all secure elements forms, international payment schemes and value added NFC services (like couponing, smart posters, loyalty, etc.).

BKM, Interbank Card Center of Turkey, was established in 1990 with the partnership of 13 public and private Turkish banks for the purpose of providing solutions to the common problems and developing the rules and standards of payment system.

The Near Field Communication (NFC) Forum is a non-profit industry association that promotes the use of NFC short-range wireless interaction in payment systems, consumer electronics, mobile devices and PCs.
