NFC Forum approves Clear2Pay test solutions for LLCP and SNEP Specifications
New tools support a consistent NFC environment
Brussels, 8 May 2014 – Clear2Pay, the international technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions, today announces that the NFC Forum, the non-profit industry association that advances NFC technology, approved its Logical Link Control Protocol (LLCP) and Simple NDEF Exchange Protocol (SNEP) Conformance Test Suites. Both test suites are logical extensions to the existing Digital Protocol Test Solution that was validated previously by the NFC Forum.
LLCP is a protocol that supports two-way peer-to-peer communication between NFC-enabled devices. SNEP allows an application on an NFC-enabled device to exchange NDEF messages with another NFC-enabled device when operating in NFC Forum peer-to-peer mode.
The new LLCP and SNEP tools add testing capability that supports the scope of the NFC Forum Certification Program, enabling device manufacturers to launch solutions that comply to the industry’s requirements. Clear2Pay’s test solution is already used by a number of companies, including major chip and device manufacturers as well as accredited test labs.
Marie Costers, General Manager Clear2Pay Test Solutions, explains: ‘The LLCP and SNEP test solutions complement our NFC Forum Digital Conformance Test Suite. Manufacturers can now be confident that they’ve implemented technology that is up to the demands of the industry: this new solution can be used during development, for debugging and pre-certification.’
Paula Hunter, NFC Forum Executive Director adds: “Every testing solution that supports the NFC Forum Certification Program provides the marketplace with one more assurance that tested NFC devices will perform consistently and reliably. We applaud Clear2Pay for helping to drive conformance and aid global interoperability.”
