New York City’s transit system is about to jump into the present — at least in terms of how riders pay to use it. Starting in 2018, New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority will begin moving to a contactless payment system that uses apps like Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay, New York Times reports.
