NFC Forum’s 2025 Annual Report is now available

After more than two decades, the NFC Forum is busier than ever, boasting a comprehensive and impressive work program that is driven by our dedicated Board, committed members and important technical partnerships.

The 2025 Annual Report reflects upon progress made in the last 12 months across use cases including wireless charging, sustainability, and our first NFC Controller Security Profile Specification. 2025 also saw the launch of NFC Release 15 – the latest advancement in NFC Forum-certified technologies which allows for faster, more reliable contactless interactions.

From smart kitchens to next generation cars, the use cases for NFC continue to expand. The Annual Report therefore also offers insight into what’s next for NFC through NFC Forum’s Technology Roadmap.

As ever, our work is made possible by our people. Our member community continued to grow, expanding to more than 840 corporations – a 20% increase from last year – with more than 640 products now NFC Forum certified. 2025 has been a year of growth and innovation, and we look ahead to continuing our work over the next 12 months.
