About the NFC Antenna Locator

In conjunction with the NFC Forum 2025 Americas Members Meeting, attendees received an educational NFC-enabled card designed to illustrate key concepts behind Near Field Communication technology. This card serves as a hands-on learning tool, demonstrating both antenna range and power harvesting capabilities.

When placed within range of an active NFC reader device, the onboard LED illuminates—highlighting how energy can be wirelessly harvested and used to power simple circuits without the need for a battery. It’s a compact, practical example of how passive NFC devices operate in real-world applications. And of course it will also help users find the antenna sweet spot on many NFC enabled devices like their mobile phone.

It is important to note that this educational toy is not intended for diagnostic or technical testing purposes. While it effectively demonstrates core NFC principles such as field strength sensitivity and power transfer, it is not designed or calibrated for use in professional evaluations or device troubleshooting. The goal of this gift is to provide an engaging, visual representation of NFC functionality to support learning and discussion among members.
