NFC Forum Roars Into Stuttgart

Highlights include VISIONFC Automotive Summit and 15th Anniversary Celebration

The NFC Forum was founded in 2004 by Nokia, Royal Phillips Electronics (NXP) and Sony. So we found it only right that we return to celebrate our 15th anniversary at the home of one of founding members — and Sony headquarters just so happened to be in the city that created the automobile — Stuttgart, Germany.

Thus, it became the perfect marriage at our recent member meeting of celebrating our 15th  anniversary at Sony paired with a special and highly successful VISIONFC Automotive Summit held in conjunction with the member meeting.

The whole event would not have been successful without the support of our sponsors. A special thank you to Sony, DNP and Infineon for their contributions towards making the event such an enormous success.

VISIONFC Automotive Summit Shifts Into High Gear

The Automotive Summit’s objective was to show how NFC can enhance the automotive consumer experience, share the latest NFC automotive developments and identify market needs and requirements from the industry stakeholders. The event also sparked the conversation with key stakeholders about the future of NFC in the automotive industry. It helped to pave a path for future hands-on workshops centered around best practices for implementing NFC in the automotive ecosystem.

Happy Anniversary NFC Forum

Following the VISIONFC Summit, the NFC Forum and its members celebrated its 15th Anniversary! It was a night filled with cake, networking, and celebrating all the hard work that has gone into the Forum over the last 15 years.

While the celebration of the NFC Forum took place at night the next morning the members went right to work. Members took to their respective special interest groups where discussions on future projects, white papers, and technologies took place. Each group highlighted the efforts that have been made since the previous member meeting in the spring and proposed the progress that should be made by the next member meeting in November.
